The flashlight works with 3 AAA batteries or a rechargeable 18650 battery. Both options provide a reliable power source for the flashlight, allowing for convenient and versatile use. The choice between disposable or rechargeable batteries offers flexibility for users based on their preferences and needs. **

The Fenix PD36R is a good rechargeable flashlight that is suitable for the dark forest. It has a maximum output of 1600 lumens, which provides a bright and far-reaching beam to illuminate the surroundings. The flashlight is also compact and durable, making it easy to carry and resistant to the rigors of outdoor use. Additionally, it has a long battery life and can be easily recharged, making it a reliable choice for extended use in the dark forest. **

Using rechargeable batteries for the flashlight is more worthwhile in the long run. While they may have a higher upfront cost, rechargeable batteries can be used multiple times, reducing waste and saving money over time. Additionally, rechargeable batteries are more environmentally friendly as they can be recharged and reused, reducing the number of disposable batteries that end up in landfills. **

Rechargeable batteries can be used multiple times, reducing the amount of waste generated. However, if rechargeable batteries are not available or practical, using standard single-use batteries is still a better option than not using any batteries at all. It's important to consider the environmental impact and choose the most sustainable option whenever possible. **
